RAISED ON TWO FAMILY FARMS IN PENNSYLVANIA'S ALLEGHENY HIGHLANDS

The History of Black Angus

Angus cattle originated in northeastern Scotland, particularly the counties historically known as Aberdeenshire and Angus. Naturally polled and widely selected for maternal ability, adaptation and beef quality, Angus became one of the dominant beef breeds in North America. On our farm, Black Angus complements Highland genetics with strong beef performance on grass.

We use breed history as context, not nostalgia: the question is whether the animal performs in our forage, weather, terrain and family-scale management system.
