About Lamb Kabob Meat

Lamb Kabob Meat is offered by Laurel Highlands Farms as part of our Pennsylvania farm-direct lamb program. LAMB · 1 lb pack

Lamb kabob meat is cut into cubes sized for skewering and quick grilling over direct heat, rather than the tougher cubes used for stewing. It takes well to Mediterranean and Middle Eastern marinades built around lemon, garlic and warm spices, and cooks in just a few minutes per side.

A pound of lamb kabob meat is enough for four skewers when paired with vegetables. A marinade of thirty minutes to a few hours adds flavor without being strictly necessary given how quickly these small cubes cook. Alternating the meat with vegetable pieces on the skewer helps everything cook evenly and makes for an easier, more balanced bite. Ground lamb kabobs, known as kofta, are another popular way to use this same cut when formed around a skewer with spices.

Buying directly from a farm is easier when product identity, price and use are clear. Consider how many people you are feeding, the cooking methods you use most often and how the item will fit into your meal planning. Our shop also includes related cuts, primals and specialty boxes so you can compare options without losing the connection to the farm.

Availability follows the realities of a working livestock farm. Add currently available products to your cart and confirm pickup or other fulfillment details during checkout or by contacting the farm. For more help choosing and cooking cuts, visit our beef and lamb guides.

Good to know

Fresh lamb keeps best refrigerated at 40°F or below and should be cooked within a few days of thawing; for longer storage keep it frozen in the original vacuum packaging. Thaw slowly in the refrigerator on a tray and pat the meat dry before cooking for a better crust.

Pasture-raised lamb has a clean, mild flavor when it is not overcooked. Cook chops and racks quickly to medium-rare or medium, and give shoulder, shank and breast cuts the long, gentle heat that turns their connective tissue tender. Always rest the meat before carving.
